It is good for fostering a little competition between students. I mostly use it in class to review vocabulary and grammar structures. I also use it for special holidays like Christmas or Halloween. Students can also download the app and play alone to review alone. ű

The main restriction is that every student needs a mobile device or computer that is connected to the internet. In a smart classroom or with students who have data on their phones it is easy. But sometimes it doesn’t work because the technology isn’t working or adequate.

Hmm, I’ve heard of Kahoot but never really tested it out extensively. It seems like a lot of work designing those quizzes/games but I guess I need to look into that. Thanks for the recommendation.

Kahoot live (played in groups) always works great in class. Ss cooperate, are motivated, and have fun. Even a “boring” fill in the gaps grammar revision exercise becomes exciting 🙂

I’ve already heard about this service, and really want to try it out. But I can’t imagine how to play it with the whole class (not every student has a device connected to the Internet). I’ll be thankful if you share your experience!!

I liked Quizlet very much. But I didn’t understand if I have to pay. It seems to have an upgrade, but I’d like you to tell me if I can or not create lessons for free.

Well, you can create sets and assign to classes or just make them publicly available with the free account. The paid teacher mode removes the limit of classes you can create and gives you some stats on how your students progress and their score. I think it’s quite useful as you can see what words and phrases you should revise with your students.

When asked why they study English, most students will say it’s because they want to communicate. They might also want to find a better job, pass an exam or simply be better at English, but oral communication is what students usually put very high on their priority list. What is more, many foreign language students admit that the fact that they can speak a language they couldn’t speak, say, a year earlier, makes them feel extremely satisfied and keeps them motivated. Whether you teach low-level or advanced learners, use these five speaking fluency activities for ESL students to help them communicate better in English. You can use the activities as warm-ups, fillers, and whenever you feel that your students (and you!) need them.

Used every day by people all over the world, small talk or a quick chat is a great way to practise fluency, revise and make students feel more confident about speaking English. It can be used with students on all levels and repeated regularly in different forms. You can simply ask your students how their weekend was, or how they’ve been, but you could also choose a couple of questions from the list below to make the classroom small talk more varied. Ask follow-up questions and encourage other students to do so, too.

Visual aids are not only a great prompt for speaking, but they also make the lesson more interactive and engaging. Regardless of the students’ level, they are a valuable tool for practising speaking. There are numerous websites where you can generate random pictures (like here or here) and use them to make your students talk. Apart from the obvious ‘describe the picture’ part, use the set of questions below to make the task more interesting or more appropriate for high-level students. The questions work with any picture, and develop not only speaking fluency, but also the ability to think critically in English.

Do you think your students could benefit from such speaking fluency activities? In this lesson for lower-level students you will find tasks to help with picture description, and at the end of this lesson for advanced students you will find sets of photos with extra questions.

An oldie but a goodie. Everybody likes talking about their preferences, and as teachers we can use this fact to get our students talking. The rule here is that students must explain why they prefer something over something else, because that is when production happens. Use the examples below, and once your students get the gist of the activity, ask them to prepare more of the ‘Would you rather’ questions in pairs. Give them a theme: holidays, work, lifestyle, possessions, extremes, etc. They can then answer other students’ questions.

This is one of the best speaking fluency activities for ESL students to use if your lower-level learners still don’t feel comfortable speaking English. The purpose is to let them have a simple conversation with a partner, without worrying about accuracy, and enjoy the fact that they are able to communicate in a foreign language. Put your students in pairs and tell them they will talk about a topic you give them for two minutes. Tell them the point is to keep the conversation going, and that they can say whatever comes into their mind. That means they can share their own opinions and experience, but also ask their partner questions. You, the teacher, want to hear them speak English and that’s all you ask.

Some possible topics for the two-minute conversations include: weekends, food, films, pets, birthdays, shopping, family, cities, travelling, school. If you want to make it more interesting, choose some of these less obvious topics: carrots, socks, dolphins, dentists, headphones, windows, jars, islands, queues, coffee.

This simple activity creates lots of opportunities for students to ask questions. The following are some examples of what you might say to your students about yourself. You can obviously adapt the sentences so that they are true for you.

After hearing or reading one of your sentences, students talk in pairs or groups to establish if it is something you and they have in common. It probably isn’t, so they will get one minute to modify the statement so that it is true for the three of them. This will require either asking their partners questions (e.g. Where do you listen to music? Do you listen to classical music? Do you always listen to something in the car?), or talking about their own experience, e.g. of listening to music and going places by car, until the other students decide that it is also true for them. (There might be students who, once they realize a sentence is untrue for all of them, will simply turn it into a negative, or change the beginning to ‘My English teacher…’. Make sure they know that is not what the activity is about.)

If you want your students to practise asking questions more, have a look at this lesson plan.Fluent speaking is arguably the most desirable skill for English learners. At ESL Brains, we always try to give it priority in the lessons we design, but it ultimately depends on you, the teacher, how much speaking practice your students are given. How do you create speaking opportunities in the lesson? Which of the no-prep speaking fluency activities for ESL students will you use to help your students communicate better in English?

Thanks for the inspiration! It’s always nice to have a few fresh ideas, or even just a reminder to dust off some classic, well-loved activities too. 🙂

I have a student who really struggles with any kind of conversation about herself. We often use photos of individuals and groups, and I ask leading questions about them. She has opened up tremendously, and I can now sneak in questions about her, as well. She’s really responding well to this.
ESL Lessons

These five ESL speaking games are simple and fun. They provide speaking practice and can be used as fillers, vocabulary revision tasks or a set of games to be played in the last lesson in the semester. You can create them yourself or use our ready-made lower-level (A2-B1) and higher-level (B2-C1) guessing games lesson plans.

Of the ESL speaking games described here, this one is probably the one you should start with. It is a simpler version of the game Taboo. It can be played in pairs or teams. A student gets a word and needs to give others clues so that they guess it. They cannot, however, use the word in question or any of its parts. They cannot use any words that rhyme with the target word either. Students have one minute to describe as many words as possible for their partner, team or the whole group to guess correctly. Students might want to see how NOT to play the game in this video (up to 00:28). If your students like to compete, you can award them points for every correctly guessed word.

This game is fun, loud and super engaging. Your students might get very creative as their answers will be considered correct as long as other students agree they are. A student gets a category and has five seconds to come up with three things that fall into it. For example, they might need to name three things people have for breakfast. Some will give simple answers, like cereal, coffee and toast, in which case they get a point (although scores are not that important in the game – students are likely to just want to play it for fun). The challenge, however, is that five seconds is not a lot of time. So a student might fail to come up with obvious things and say whatever comes to mind, like carrot, snack and water, just to say something within the five seconds. Now is the time when other students either accept the answers or not. If they don’t, or if the student fails to provide three answers, the person sitting on their right (or the one whose turn comes after) tries to come up with three new things that fall into the category. If they manage to do that, they get a point. Otherwise the following student gets a different category.

It’s quite important to use a sound to mark the end of the five seconds. You can use a simple timer. Make sure that you start the timer after you have finished reading the category.

This is one of the ESL speaking games that gives students an opportunity to not only speak but also practise question formation. In the game, a student gets a word and others can ask any 20 yes or no questions to guess what the word is. The questions can be as simple as Is it a type of food? to more elaborate ones like Is it something people usually keep in the fridge? or Is it bigger than a fork? For lower-level students, the words could be limited to objects but higher-level students could also use places, ideas or people. This game doesn’t require much preparation and, after seeing some examples, your students can be the ones who come up with the words to guess.

This fun guessing game is also great grammar practice. A student gets a verb that others need to guess by asking questions and using the word coffeepot as a substitute for the verb. So they might ask: Do people coffeepot every day?, Have we coffeepotted in this lesson?, Are you coffeepotting now?, Is coffeepotting something people do on purpose? or Is coffeepotting dangerous? The answers don’t need to be limited to just yes or no, so the answering student can explain that it could be dangerous but people do it regularly and no one gets hurt. Students can also ask open-ended questions like In what situations do people coffeepot? or Why do people coffeepot every day? The answering student may decide to provide more or less help to other students by giving them responses with varying levels of detail. The verbs that work best in this game are those that refer to what people (or animals) do and that are intransitive (e.g. it is fairly easy to guess the verb swim but not necessarily the verb use).

This is one of the funniest ESL speaking games. Students guess a word based on one-word clues. The game is ideally played in groups of four, with two pairs in each group. One person in each pair gets the same word and they need to help their partners guess the word by giving them one-word clues. The game might go like this: students A and B get a word (e.g. roses). Student A gives the first clue to their partner (e.g. red) while the other pair listens. Student A’s partner tries to guess the word but fails (e.g. they say light). Now student B gives a one-word clue to their partner (e.g. dozen) while the other pair listens. Their partner says eggs, which means that it is student A’s turn again. The clues follow until one of the partners guesses the word. You can see (and show your students) how the game is played in this video (00:56-02:18).

Alternatively, the game can be played in pairs, in which case students could be limited to using only two or three words to help their partners guess the ‘password’. It could also be played in threes: two students might give clues to one person.

Firstly, it’s important that you tape a big ‘X’ on the surface of your mirror. This way, if the mirror cracks then it’s much less likely to shatter and send shards of glass everywhere. Cover your mirror in bubble wrap, lay a sheet of corrugated cardboard on either side and then secure everything with tape. You can then wrap it in a big blanket for extra protection. Don’t forget to put separate pieces of thick cardboard around each corner of the mirror.

There’s nothing nicer than a really beautiful lamp to light up your living room, so you don't want to go damaging it. Remove the bulb and the lampshade first and pack them separately. You’ll be left with a headless lamp and a long wire. Wrap the wire around the body of the lamp and secure everything with masking tape. Cover the lamp with bubble wrap and place it in a suitably sized box. You’ll want to cushion the lamp with some crumpled newspaper, too.

Most of us spend a fairly large part of our lives sitting on couches and watching television, so it’s important that they do the job properly. If you’re bringing your sofa, the first thing you need to do is try to remove its legs if possible. It sounds gruesome but it will help you get it through all the doorways. Take off all the covers and cushions and pack them separately along with the legs. After that, things get a bit fiddly, but it’s all necessary.

You need to disassemble the frame. Turn the sofa on its back and remove the staples at the base with a Flathead screwdriver. This should allow you to take off (or at least roll back) the upholstery, exposing most of the sofa’s frame. Using a screwdriver or an Allen wrench, remove the screws and bolts that hold the arms, the seat and the back of the sofa together. You should be left with a pile of upholstery, pieces of wooden frame and screws. Make sure everything is wrapped thoroughly and safely – a dismantled sofa is still prone to damage if it isn’t packed properly. We recommend taking photos while you work, too, so you know how to reassemble the sofa again once it's in its new home.

If you work from home (and your work involves a desk) then a quality desk chair is a big priority. Fortunately, most desk chairs are really easy to disassemble. Start by pulling off the wheels – most desk chairs have wheels that pop off pretty easily. After that, there should be a knob on the bottom of the seat that you can turn until the seat is loose enough to remove. Do the same with the back of the chair. You’ll then be left with just the chair's central structure. Cover each part in bubble wrap and box it all up. If your chair looks difficult to disassemble then simply refer to the original instruction manual (if you still have it).

This is quite easy. Turn the table upside down and remove all the legs. This should be pretty easy to unscrew but it may take a bit of elbow grease. Most table legs are attached by something called a ‘leg assembly’, which is a combination of screws and braces. Go at it with a decent screwdriver and you should be done in no time. Once the legs are off, wrap them in a combination of cardboard and bubble wrap. The table itself should be protected by a thick blanket and a few sheets of corrugated cardboard. Make sure you’ve done everything properly; if your table gets damaged on the way then you might be eating your first meal in your new home off the floor.

You’ll have other belongings that don’t classify as furniture but are still worth a quick mention. It’s fairly simple; if the item is small enough, just put it in a box. Dishes, glasses and crockery should go in robust cardboard boxes, although you shouldn’t put too many things in one box. Use blankets and newspaper to make sure small delicate items won’t hit each other during their time in transit. Dish towels and kitchen roll are also useful ways to create buffers without adding too much weight to your cargo. Similarly, books should go in boxes but never too many in the same box as it will become too heavy to carry.

Select the size of your move to get free quotes

Cleaning your furniture

When you hear the word ‘quarantine’, you probably think about people and pets. Well, you should think about furniture too. Some countries , such as Australia, have some serious restrictions on the cargo that people import, and they can get really fussy about items of furniture that appear unclean. Small things like bits of dust, dirt and mold can have a damaging effect on local ecosystems, so you need to arrive with your cargo looking pretty spotless.

If a customs official finds one dirty item of furniture then they might end up unpacking everything, and you don’t want that. Obviously gardening items such as tools and outdoor furniture are the main culprits for bringing dirt into other countries, but all your indoor furniture needs a proper inspection too.

It sounds a bit gross but wood is a popular place for tiny insects, so you need to check it for signs of infestation (eg. tiny holes). The other incentive to dust and clean your belongings is that is reduces the chances of stains and scratches during transit. Spend a bit of time sprucing up your furniture and you’ll be doing everyone a favour.

How much does it cost to move furniture abroad?

The cost of moving furniture abroad depends on a number of factors including how much furniture you’re moving, where you’re moving it to and from, and whether you move it by air, sea or land. In general, you should expect to pay anywhere between £1,000 and £5,000 to move your furniture overseas. Additional services such as hiring a professional company to pack your furniture will drive up the cost.

How can I move abroad cheaply?

It is possible to cut costs when moving abroad. Transporting your belongings by sea instead of air, selling the possessions you no longer need, and packing your stuff yourself can help save you a bit of money. Check out our guide on the cheapest ways to move abroad for more advice on how to cut moving costs.

Moving your pet abroad requires a lot of planning. Firstly, your pet will need to make a visit to the vets and undergo a series of medical checks to obtain a pet health certificate. You’ll then need to buy a suitable travel crate and book your pet onto a flight to its destination country – either in the cabin or the hold. Once it’s arrived in its new country, your pet will have to pass through customs and (possibly) quarantine before it’s allowed to go home. For a full rundown on how to move your pet abroad and the costs involved, visit our guide to pet relocation costs.

We hope this page has made you feel super confident about packing everything yourself, but we also understand that professional assistance during such a stressful time is invaluable. A moving company will come round to your house and do the relevant preparation, assessing all the items you’d like to bring and deciding what materials are required. After that, they’ll pack everything with great care and load it onto the container for you. It sounds wonderfully helpful, but then again some people relish a challenge. Especially if the challenge saves you a lot of money. Just do everything properly and you’ll avoid the horror of smashed mirrors, broken tables and wobbly chairs.
Movers Calgary

A key way to make sure you end up with the best shipping deal, and trusty movers, is to shop around for the quote that most suits your needs. Rather than leaving you in the lurch to do this on your own, we’ve created an easy-to-use tool that can do this for you!

Simply provide a few details about your move, and let us take the reins. We’ll pass on your details to a handful of our trusted suppliers, who’ll then be in touch with free quotes for you to check out – it’s never been easier to lug your stuff halfway across the world.

Even well-made furniture is surprisingly fragile, and contingency plans take on a new meaning when you’re moving across the country. Moving anything long-distance can feel like a gamble, but with the right mindset, equipment, plan, and a little luck, the process can go just as smoothly as moving down the street. Here are our tips for how to move furniture across country — safely and with as little stress as possible.

A man and woman are unloading a loveseat from the back of a moving truck. The man is outside of the truck, and the woman is still in the truck. There are boxes and chairs around them.

As you can imagine, how you decide to move your furniture will impact how you prepare for the journey to your new home. Consider how much furniture you have to move, your budget, and how much time and effort you’re willing and able to spend.

If you have many oversized furniture items (especially big-ticket items like a piano) that may be difficult to move on your own, you may elect to use a traditional moving company. This is effective, but it can be costly — and sometimes risky. In fact, thousands of customers file damage claims every year. That’s because items are often unloaded and reloaded several times during their journey, or even shipped co-mingled with other people’s belongings. If you do decide to go this route, make sure to get insurance. Your items may emerge unscathed, but it’s worth being covered just in case.

A man with a moving company is getting a woman to sign a bill of lading in front of a moving truck that still has some furniture and boxes on it.

You can also hire a freight shipping company to ship your furniture long-distance. You’ll have two shipping options to choose from: LTL (less-than-truck-load) and FTL (full-truck-load). Depending on your selection, your costs, shipping time, security, and other factors will vary, including the following:

LTL shipments may be transferred from truck to truck multiple times during transport, but FTL shipments remain on the same truck the whole time, which can significantly lower the chance of damage or loss.

If you have lots of furniture pieces that require delicate handling and you need to move long-distance fast, FTL is probably the best choice — but it will cost you more.

On the other hand, if you’re only shipping a few items, and it doesn’t matter when it gets to its new destination, LTL should work just fine.

Also, you’ll want to explore both ground freight and air freight. The better option for you will depend on what you’re shipping, how much it’s worth, and even whether you have any perishables. Note: We don’t recommend moving any perishables packed among your furniture! But if you have sensitive things you absolutely must get to your new home, here’s some guidance from the pros at FedEx.

A family of four is carrying things out of their house to load into a PODS portable moving container in their driveway.

Using a portable moving and storage container (also called a moving container or a storage container) is a great option for long-distance moves for many reasons. First, they provide one solution for both moving and storage. You can easily store your container if needed at a secure facility or keep it in your driveway, which means you can take your time loading and unloading your furniture.

Portable containers also offer more control over how your items get loaded, because you can do the loading yourself, which — trust us — can mean the difference between your favorite side table and your favorite side table with a big chip in it. Compared to the full-service moving industry, PODS has 10 times fewer damage claims, according to the AMSA (American Moving & Storage Association). We don’t know about you, but that certainly makes us feel more at ease!

Insider Tip: If you’re moving just a few pieces of furniture long-distance, the PODS 8-foot container* is an ideal size!

Serviced apartments are one of these options and it is becoming more and more popular as people need places comfortable like their houses. Serviced apartments are great options if you are looking for accommodation that gives you a sense of home.

You might be asking “Why should I stay in a serviced apartment instead of a hotel? Aren’t the hotels and serviced apartments very similar in terms of the quality?” Although it’s’ true that they look alike they have differences if you look at them in detail. If you are trying to find the best solution for your stay and learn the differences between serviced apartments and hotels, we’ve got you covered. This article will answer your questions.

A serviced apartment is a fully furnished apartment and you can stay in those types of apartments during your short-term or long-term stays. Just by paying the rent, you can have all kinds of accommodation amenities and feel like you are staying at your place. All included opportunities such as kitchen, furniture and the fact that it has more square meters than regular hotel rooms will make you feel as if you are living there instead of traveling. You can do your laundry, watch your TV, and cook your dinner in serviced apartments. Shortly, you can do everything that you do in your place.

The feeling which makes you feel like home can be one of the main differences between hotel rooms and serviced apartments. In addition to that, you’ll have more space than you’ll have in a traditional hotel room and this will make you feel more comfortable and cozier. Especially if you are a digital nomad or a remote worker who travels a lot you may desire to have the warmth of your own home. If this is the occasion, a serviced apartment is the right place to stay.

Besides, if you are planning to stay more than a couple of days, serviced apartments are more affordable for longer stays. In other words, if you travel a lot, choosing a serviced apartment will be more sustainable for your wallet. Also, particularly for your touristic stays, you may want to stay in a place which is located in more central places and serviced apartments serve that purpose very well.

One of the main differences between a hotel room and a serviced apartment is the length of the stay. Normally, traditional hotel rooms are not convenient for long stays. In a hotel room, you will have a smaller space than in a serviced apartment and it can be quite difficult to stay in a little room for a long time. Especially if you need a working place or a place that needs to separate your living and sleeping area, serviced apartments are the right choice. Similar to your home, you can sleep in a different place and work or rest in front of the TV in another. Serviced apartments will be meeting your needs on such occasions.

Also, if you want to cook your meal, serviced apartments will be providing a fully equipped kitchen for your needs. Hotel rooms sometimes have kitchens too but they are quite smaller when compared to a serviced room kitchen. To be more specific, staying in a serviced apartment will be much more comfortable than staying in a hotel room.

There you have it. We’ve given you an introduction to serviced apartments. Serviced apartments are great alternatives if you’re bored with traditional hotel rooms and want to live like a local wherever you’re traveling to…

A serviced apartment is a fully furnished apartment that you can stay in during your travels. You can consider staying in serviced apartments both on your long-term and short-term trips. You can take advantage of the furniture such as the washing machine and television which will make you feel and give you a sense of coziness in your place. A serviced apartment is definitely worth its price. The fact that they have more space than a hotel room makes them more livable, particularly for your long-term stays. In addition to that, with their fully furnished kitchen, you can cook your meal and this will also make your stay wallet-friendly.

For the people who are searching for a place to stay for their journeys, serviced apartments can be the right choice. Because serviced apartments offer all utilities and an area for living. You can chill out after a long touristic day on your couch and prepare your breakfast in the morning before going out again. Serviced apartments are cheaper than hotel rooms as they are flats. The rent of a flat is almost always cheaper than a hotel room. Besides, when you stay in a hotel, most of the time you eat outside which makes you pay more during your stay.

The main difference between serviced apartments and condominiums is the status of the land. Serviced apartments’ aim is to be used as a commercial area while the condominium is more like a residential area. This fact makes them different in their legal status when it comes to paying the taxes etc. Although Airbnb and serviced apartments look very similar to each other, they have deterministic differences. The main difference between them is that the serviced apartments are in the business. That means that when you are staying in a serviced apartment, you will have sustainable quality and you don’t have to look for the right quality before you travel.
Home & Travel

A serviced apartment is not residential property. Their title is commercial. The difference between residential and commercial properties is that residential properties are built for living while commercial properties are built for business. You can buy a serviced apartment. Especially in tourist destinations, buying a serviced apartment can be a good investment for the future. Most online booking sites offer a filter option and sometimes a separate category for serviced apartment searches.

If you are a business traveler or frequent vacationer, you may realize that short-term apartments are quickly becoming the new luxury hotels. They may not have room service or housekeeping service, but many of them provide luxury amenities and perks that you simply cannot find in a hotel chain.Especially if you are staying in town for a week or more, renting a house or condo can be cheaper than paying per night at a hotel. Even for the most economical hotels, you could easily pay up to $1,000 per week. But many nice rental homes charge a similar amount for an entire month’s stay and even prorate the rent if you only stay part of the month.

Hotel chains are often built in commercial zones, limiting you to freeways and fast food chains. When you rent a privately owned apartment or condo, you choose your area and neighborhood. If you are visiting Chicago, for example, you may prefer to stay in a trendy neighborhood of Chicago near Wrigley Field or Lincoln Park. In neighborhoods such as Bloomingdale in Chicago, you have pedestrian-friendly access to public parks and trendy local restaurants to choose from, giving your visit a more personal and local feel.

Hot tubs, large flat screen TVs, billiard rooms, and a private washer and dryer are not necessarily included in hotels. They are, however, fairly common in apartments. If you don’t mind cleaning up your own mess, having a fully equipped kitchen is nice if you are traveling by yourself or if you want to invite people over for a meal. Having a front porch or backyard patio can be a refreshing change of pace from the usual four walls of a hotel room as well.

Looking for sites like Airbnb to book your next vacation rental? You betcha. You see, visuals affect everything from conversion rate to time on page, trustworthiness, and organic backlinks (which help you rank your site on Google.) So the equation looks like this: Great site design = More trust = Better conversions Great site design = More trust = More conversions.CLICK TO TWEET How do you make your site look great? Start with your brand. Branding Through Site Design Your brand is your image. Everything from the colors you use to the fonts you choose affects people’s perception of who you are. In her guide to branding, Sonia Gregory says that “as a small business, you may be competing against big brands with devoted customers. That’s why you have to find ways to differentiate–with a solid brand building process of your own.”

What do you want people to think when they see your site? Edgy, modern, satirical, professional, something else? You can convey those things through your design. Just take a look at the psychology of color – different colors convey different emotions. In fact, a study titled “Impact of color on marketing” found that up to 90% of snap judgments made about products can be based on color alone, depending on the product. Beyond color, you also have font choice. And yes, there is a psychology behind font choice as well. Ted Hunt from Crazy Egg made this cool infographic about it: Psychology behind font choice Regardless of the font you choose for your logo and branding efforts, you should always choose readability over emotional feel for your main body font. Typically that means sans serif fonts, as they read the best on the web. One last tip on font choice: Don’t use more than two fonts in your design. Pick two that compliment each other and stick with those for your entire brand.

Key Takeaway: Choose no more than three colors and two fonts to represent your brand. Write down the fonts and color codes and use them consistently across your entire site and marketing efforts. Finding, Designing, and Using Images Imagery is a major part of website design. And yet so many people do it wrong. Great images add value to the visitor. They help explain a key point and give the eyes a break. They even help sell your products and services. For example, if you’re an eCommerce site, you want your product photos to be high-quality and show tons of different angles.

Which of these flowers would you rather buy? Website imagery (Source) If you even saw the image on the right, you’d probably leave and never come back. The middle image is better, but still not great. The one on the left makes you trust the website. Just be careful, because bad images actually reduce readership. Remember design principle #1: Great design has a purpose in mind. Any image that doesn’t have a purpose is a bad image. Period. If you needed more incentive, page load speed (which I discuss in section two), is extremely important to SEO and usability. Having too many big images slows your site down.

So, how do you find, design, and use images on your website? We wrote about some tools to make great images in this post. Go check it out. But to give you some inspiration, here are a few examples of good images you can use: Charts and graphs of data points Screenshots High-quality stock photography (choose wisely) Custom designs and vector graphics Professional (or at least well-done) photography Key Takeaway: Use images, but do so with a purpose in mind. 3 Examples of Beautiful Websites Knowing what makes a good website is easier when you see real-life examples.

Here are a few I love: KlientBoost is completely devoted to amazing website design. Their site oozes beautiful visuals. Klientboost Website Design CoSchedule is a site I look up to as well. Their whole site is based on great formatting and consistent branding. CoSchedule design example Expedia: Visit Britain received a developer award for its design. expedia-great-britain You can also see more examples that actually won awards for great design at Awwwards and Webby Awards. (Note: I also give a list of website templates with great visuals in the next section on responsive design, in case you’re like me and can’t code.) Enough about visuals. Let’s get a little geekier.

Technical Website Design (AKA “Geeky Stuff”) Technical web design includes things like: Responsive design and mobile-friendliness Fast load speeds Search engine optimization (SEO) SSL encryption Site architecture & navigation If any of these things made you say “What?”, don’t worry. I’ll explain them all in laymen’s terms. Responsive Design and Mobile-Friendliness

According to Smashing Magazine’s post Responsive Web Design: What It Is And How To Use It: “Responsive Web design is the approach that suggests that design and development should respond to the user’s behavior and environment based on screen size, platform and orientation.” Responsive Web Design In other words, a responsive site is one that plays well on all screens and devices. It’s mobile-friendly and caters to the device you’re viewing it on. If you think that sounds complicated… it is. But it’s important. In fact, smartphones now account for over 51% of all online traffic, and tablets came in at just over 12%. And that number is growing. Also, Google cares a lot about mobile-friendliness. In fact, they now place a priority on ranking mobile-friendly sites (an update called “Mobilegeddon“).

Finally, mobile-friendly makes for a better user experience. And ultimately, it’s all about the user. They’re the ones opening their wallets to keep your business afloat. So what’s a non-designer to do? First, see if your site is considered mobile-friendly by Google with their mobile-friendly test. It’s also a good idea to check it yourself by going to your site on your phone. If it doesn’t score well or look good, you have some work to do. Mobile-friendly test Yay, we’re mobile-friendly! Besides hiring a designer, your best bet is to change your site’s template. This is the easiest and most affordable way to make your site mobile-friendly and responsive.

Here are some mobile-friendly templates for popular site builders: Mobile-friendly WordPress templates Mobile-friendly Shopify templates Mobile-friendly BigCommerce templates Mobile-friendly Magento templates Template Monster for multiple platforms Fast Website Load Speed According to surveys done by Akamai and Gomez.com, nearly half of web users expect a site to load in 2 seconds or less, and they tend to abandon a site that isn’t loaded in 3 seconds! That doesn’t give you much wiggle room. But if you’re still not convinced, get this: Roughly 79% of online shoppers who have trouble with website performance say they won’t return to the site to buy again, and around 44% of them would tell a friend if they had a poor experience shopping online. In other words, if your site speed sucks, you lose. Big Time. So how do you ensure a fast load speed? Try this: Like the mobile-friendly test, Google also has a page speed test. However, some believe it’s not very accurate, so it can’t hurt to also try Pingdom and GT Metrix.

All three will give you an idea of what’s hurting your load speeds, with suggestions to improve. Page speed test As you can see, there are a lot of ways to improve your site load speed, like browser caching and making above-the-fold content load first (the content you see without scrolling down the page). However, one of the easiest ways is optimizing and compressing your images. As I said in the visual section, images take up a lot of bandwidth. Which is why it’s important to only use images that are highly valuable. You can use a tool like Gimp to compress your images for free. (Here is a tutorial to do just that.) Pre- and post-Gimp image file sizes Search Engine Optimization (SEO) SEO means optimizing your site to show up in search engines like Google. It’s the bread and butter of what makes a good website.

Done right, it can drive thousands in traffic to your site every month without any extra effort. Done poorly, not a soul will find you on Google. According to Jon Rognerud, there are four steps to SEO. Here are some of Jon’s actionable takeaways: Know who you’re targeting and perform keyword research. Optimize your site pages with on-page SEO targeting those keywords. Create a strong sitemap for Google and Bing to index your site. This is highly simplified and there are a lot of other SEO factors, but these three tactics will get you well on your way to showing up in search results. This next piece of web design advice helps with both SEO and building trust with your visitors. Securing Your Site with SSL Encryption

You’ve probably seen the little green lock in your address bar next to a website. SSL Encryption This is called SSL encryption. Google gives encrypted sites a small SEO boost. But perhaps more important than that is the trust factor it gives your visitors. This is especially true if you sell anything on your website. People want to know their information is safe before they open their wallet. Migrating to SSL is a delicate process. Here’s a guide to migrate your site to SSL without hurting your search rankings. Site Architecture & Navigation Remember design principle #4: Have a clear site navigation. Navigation is important for two main reasons: Better SEO (because it makes it easier for Google to index your site). Better usability (because it’s easier for visitors to find their way around). Remember to use the “three click rule”: Every page on your site should be within three clicks of any other page on your site. To help you with this, consider mapping out your website. You can do it with a tool like Slickplan or just use pen and paper. They look like this:

Site Architecture Map Example Creating a physical map helps you see where you’re missing out on linking pages together, and keeps things organized. You should also keep your most important calls-to-action at the top of the page. This is where the most people see, so it’s a great place for a “shop now” button, a “contact us” tab, or a “learn more” button. Website Tools (AKA “Useful Stuff to Make Your Website Better”) Website tools are mentioned last because they can’t fix a broken website, but they can enhance an already good website. Here are a few of our favorite tools: Live Chat live-chat-widget Live chat is an essential part of a business website. Or at least, we like to think it is. We do offer it as a service, after all. 😊

But in all seriousness, live chat can help you provide excellent customer service, close customers who are on the edge and learn more about your target market. In fact, in this post, we detail how to use live chat to survey your customers so you can improve your marketing. You can also receive notifications when visitors arrive on your site even before a chat conversation! Conversio Cart Abandonment Recovery Cart Abandonment Recovery Email If we wrote “What makes a good eCommerce website”, Conversio would top our list. It automatically sends emails like the one above to try to recover abandoned carts. (Side Note: The advice in this article does apply to eCommerce sites as well. So if you have an online shop, rest assured you’re not wasting your time by reading this.)

Anyway, with 69% of people abandoning their carts on average, you’ll be taking full advantage of this tool. They also offer services like newsletter sending, product recommendations, and a stronger site search bar. Google Analytics What’s free, easy to install, and highly beneficial? Google analytics. Google analytics can give you SO much insight on where your traffic is coming from, going, and stopping. And since it’s free, there’s no excuse not to use it. Here’s a guide to installing and using Google analytics. Real-time Visitor Monitoring: Frequently Asked Questions Conclusion We’ve come to the end of our journey. Give yourself a pat on the back. So what did we learn? Basically, your website is your business card. Plus, a strong website pulls in traffic through Google, gets links from authoritative sites, and is shared more often. We’re in 2020. A great website is no longer a “nice to have”. It’s an absolute must. Did you redesign or launch your site after reading this guide? Please share it with us in the comments below! And, as always, feel free to ask questions. In today’s digitally connected world, it’s not enough to just provide a service well—you also have to market. No matter what type of business you’re in, having a strong online presence can help increase the weight of your brand.

A strong online presence can grow your audience, engage existing customers and help you sell more easily. All of this begins with having a website that speaks to your business’s unique offerings and message. Creating a website can seem daunting, but you don’t have to do it alone! has hundreds of skilled independent professionals with extensive experience in web development that can partner with you in building your website. If you decide that building a website is something you want to do on your own, there are many tools at your disposal to make this process easier. This step-by-step guide will show you how to: Define your vision for your website Purchase a domain name Choose a hosting provider Pick a website builder Select a website theme Plan and produce page content

Add functionality for your business Start measuring key metrics Test for bugs and compatibility issues Adapt to keep up with customers Build your website with the world’s best Define your vision for your website Before you can dive into website building, you’ll need to do a little bit of homework. You’ll want to begin planning what you want your site to accomplish. Is your goal to drive more readers to your blog? Do you want visitors to make a purchase? Once users hit your site, what do you want them to do? Asking yourself these key questions will help you define your website’s purpose. From there, you’ll also need to consider the website’s function, design and content. Function

Here, you’ll decide the main objective of your website. Maybe you provide a service, like consulting, and want to encourage users to reach out via a contact form. Perhaps you plan to sell products in an online store and need an e-commerce platform that allows users to view specific product pages. Or maybe your objective is to educate and create readership. Take some time to think about how your website can best serve your business and keep this function in mind as you begin to build. For example, suppose you’re a photographer and need to showcase your skill set. In this case, the main function of your website would be to display your work. On the other hand, if you run a communications agency, the main objective of your website would be the specific services you provide (public relations, content development and marketing, etc.). Join the world's work marketplace Find Talent

Design It’s important to have an idea about what you want your website to look like. Perhaps you’re looking to create conversations by showing users a portfolio of work. In that case, you might want a grid-like layout with templates that are easily repeatable to showcase new work. You might decide on-brand colors, logos, and specific imagery that ties into the overall look you’re hoping to achieve. Whatever web design you choose, make sure it’s flexible enough to serve your function and simple enough to maintain. It should also align with your brand’s personality. Content What type of content will you need to live on your new website? Creating a quick sitemap of the pages that you’re hoping to create and what needs to be on each is a great way to get organized. You can easily do this in Google Sheets or Excel. Once you’ve chosen your pages (for example, “Home,” “Blog,” “Testimonials,” “Portfolio,” and “Contact”), decide what information you want to put on each page. If it needs to be created, make that a priority. If you already have content, start compiling it.

Browse Project Catalog for more web development services. Purchase a domain name Next, decide on a domain name for your website. A domain name is the address visitors use to find your website. For example, if your business is “Sydney’s Catering,” pick a custom domain that easily describes your business. You can choose your business name, but you’ll need to do a quick domain search to determine if the name is available. It’s best to compile a list of possible domains before running a search. Domain registrars are accredited companies designed to help you buy and register a domain name for your website. While there are many domain name registrars, a few are Domain.com, Bluehost and GoDaddy. To see if the domain you’re hoping to use is free, run a search on a domain name registrar site. If the name you want is available, great! If not, keep trying until you find one that’s not already taken. Once you find a domain name, the registrar usually makes it easy to purchase it online, giving you access to your domain in minutes. Domain names typically cost somewhere between $10 and $15 annually. However, there are free domain name options available, usually included as a special offer to new users by the registrars listed above. Looking to set up a Website but not sure how much money it will take? Try the Free Website Cost Calculator tool to estimate costs associated with setting up a website.

Choose a hosting provider Now that you have a domain name, it’s time to find a hosting company for your website. Choosing a hosting provider is important, especially if you plan on conducting business primarily through your website. Websites need storage space for files, images and content. Where is it stored? Web hosting provides a physical location for your website content. For this reason, it’s important to look for a hosting provider that offers enough bandwidth for the site traffic you anticipate receiving. If you plan on starting small, look for a plan with upgraded options that you can select at any time to boost your bandwidth. Security is also a concern when choosing a web host. If you want to keep your site secure and handle minimal updates on your own, select a hosting service that handles routine web maintenance and offers security features like an SSL certificate, which will ensure users are protected when accessing your business website. It’s important to research web hosting providers, as your website’s needs might be unique. When choosing a hosting provider, consider the amount of storage you need, the guaranteed uptime and budget.

While there are many web hosting companies, here are some popular hosting providers: HostGator: Easy, moderately priced and unmetered bandwidth with the option to use their website building tools Bluehost: Fast, reliable hosting solutions with advanced security add-on options GoDaddy: Offers a variety of hosting solutions for as low as $1 Hostinger: Fast and scalable hosting options starting at less than $2 a month DreamHost: Affordable, customizable hosting solutions Pick a website builder Now, you’re ready to select a website builder. There are many user-friendly platforms, so you’ll need to keep your function and website design concepts in mind when choosing a platform. Here are a few attributes to consider when selecting a website builder: Customization options: If you like to change your design often, you’ll need a website builder that is easy to change and customize. Finding a website builder with a lot of templates can help you redo the look and feel of your site without much overhaul. The good news is that you don’t have to know a thing about front-end development for different platforms—you can find a skilled web designer or web developer on a platform like .

Features: If you’re building a blog or portfolio site, make sure you find a website platform that offers easy-to-use portfolio and blog post options or widgets. If you’ll be adding videos to your website, find a web builder that makes it easy to add video code to your site. Lastly, if you want to sell products, pick a site that makes it easy to conduct online sales, like WooCommerce or Shopify. Usability: No matter your experience with website platforms, make sure you find a website builder that’s easy to use and update. Many builders offer free trials, so you can poke around and begin building, allowing you to find the most intuitive interface. SEO practices: Making a website is only half the battle—you also need to draw traffic to your site. It’s important to find a site that makes it easy to incorporate SEO tools, from meta descriptions and titles to keywords and tags. Price: Luckily, most website platforms are similarly priced or have free trial options, but remember to keep the monthly or yearly cost in mind when selecting a platform. Knowing the basics about website builders is a good start, but how do you choose one for your new website? Determine your goals. For example, if you’re a designer wanting to display your projects, choosing a website builder that is customizable might be your best option. On the other hand, if you run a jewelry business, you may want to look into a site with good e-commerce options and one-click shopping. Here’s a quick glance at popular website builders: Wix: Wix is a website builder designed for those who crave freedom. They offer a free website option with add-ons or other paid options. With the help of an automatic website creator, it’s much easier to use than other options. If you use Wix, you’ll need to take a more hands-on approach, though, as the platform is less structured than other options. Whether you’re into blogging, social media or design, Wix provides the perfect space to share your work.

Squarespace: Although not as intuitive as other website builders, Squarespace offers several add-ons, templates and tools. Plus, your website will always be optimized for mobile devices. This website builder is best for e-commerce and small businesses with lower transaction rates. Weebly: For those wanting an easy-to-use website editor, Weebly might be the perfect option. However, it might be limiting to those wanting to heavily personalize their website since they have fewer add-on and customization options. WordPress: We’re referring to WordPress.com, which is easier to use than WordPress.org, which is an open-source software, which can take some time to learn. A WordPress site is best for bloggers and writers, as the website editor is more limited in terms of design but can be very easy to start using. Shopify: This user-friendly website builder option is best for e-commerce stores. The platform was designed with product and sales descriptions in mind. Because of this, Shopify’s website set up process helps ensure you don’t miss any essential e-commerce-related steps. Select a website theme Now, it’s time to consider your website’s theme. This process can feel a bit overwhelming since many web platforms offer so many options. Here are some key components to keep in mind when choosing a theme:

"How you clean a toy varies depending on the material that the toy is made out of. Some say gentle soap and water is fine; however, there are so many variables when it comes to the ingredients in soap that I prefer to use something I know isn't going to mess up vaginal pH." (Here's a full guide about how to exactly clean every sex toy out there.) She shares a few tips below: Store toys in a relatively temperature-controlled place to prevent bacteria growth. Don't store silicone on silicone (the same reason you don't use silicone lubricant on silicone toys; it creates microscopic holes for bacteria growth).

If something is glass or stainless steel, boil them! Especially if they're being used anally. If they're only being used vaginally and on one person, a toy cleaner will suffice. Clean the sex toy before and after use to wash away dirt, bacteria, microscopic organisms, body fluids, etc. Depending on the material of the toy, leave it out to air dry or towel dry before storage. The takeaway. Sex toys are a great way to invite fun into the bedroom, even if it does require a little bit of research and experimentation to find the best sex toys that work for you. These sex toys are a great starting point to help you fulfill your sexual needs and stay curious about what turns you on. The best part is that you don't have to stop at just one toy—you can get as many as your heart desires. Whether you’re perusing the aisles and displays at an IRL sex toy emporium or scrolling online, shopping for a sex toy can be a little overwhelming. Not only do you have to figure out what everything does, you also have to figure out if it aligns with how you like to be done.

That’s why we called on three sex toy experts (nay, connoisseurs) and asked them to give us the 411 on the main types of sex toys — all of which can be bought online. Below they explain what these sex toys do and how to know if one deserves a place in your drawer. Dildo What the heck makes a dildo, well, a dildo? According to Lisa Finn, a sex educator at sex toy boutique Babeland, “A dildo is anything phallic-shaped, or vaguely phallic-shaped, that’s designed to penetrate a vagina, anus, or mouth.” Standard dildos Also known as single-ended dildos, standard dildos most resemble biological penises in shape and function. “There are so many internal hot spots in the body, including the G-spot and A-spot in vulva owners and P-spot in people with penises,” Finn says.

She adds that a standard dildo can be used by hand or worn in a harness to stimulate these spots. Safety note: It’s only safe to put a dildo in your bum if it has a flared base that’s bigger than the widest part of the dildo. If you’re planning on using the dildo during solo sex, Finn recommends a dildo with a suction cup base, like the Avant P1 Pride Freedom dildo. Why? Because then you can attach it to a shower wall and ride it the way you might if a partner was involved. If you’re planning to use it to peg, opt for a slim, texture-free dildo, like the Tantus Silk small (or medium) dildo. And if you’re looking for a dildo that looks like a biological penis, it doesn’t get better than New York Toy Collective’s Carter or Leroy. Textured dildos Changing the material the dildo is made out of to vary the sensation — for example, a dildo made out of stainless steel will be heavier than one made out of silicone, and therefore increase the sensation of fullness — isn’t the only way to alter the texture.
Gay Pride Lingerie Lgbt

There’s also a variety of textured details you might experiment with once you’ve confirmed that you enjoy dildo play or penetration. “Some have ripples or waves,” Finn says. “Some have more pronounced heads and are super veiny. Some have little textured nubs and bumps.” Double-ended dildos As you might guess, this dildo iteration features a head at both ends. Usually 12 to 24 inches long, some look like two dildos fused together (like the Lovehoney Ice Gem) and others are U-shaped (like the Ruse double dildo). “Depending on the shape, double-ended dildos allow you to experiment with double penetration either in the same hole, or in different holes, for a sense of fullness,” Finn explains, “or to experience extra-deep insertion.” Money-saving hack: You can make your own double-ended dildo with a double-sided suction cup. Strapless strap-on Sometimes the terms “strapless strap-on” and “double-ended dildo” are used interchangeably, but they’re pretty different.

While double-ended dildos are typically U- or I-shaped, strapless strap-ons are L-shaped. “Strapless strap-ons are ergonomically designed so that one partner can wear the toy and experience a sensation of fullness while also thrusting into a partner,” Finn explains. “They can also be worn by somebody who wants to jack themselves using something phallic, or receive a blow job,” she adds. Cheers to gender euphoria! Note: While the name of this toy implies you should be able to wear it harness-free, “thrusting while trying to hold the toy inside your own body is incredibly taxing on the pelvic floor muscles,” says sex educator Cassandra Corrado. “So don’t hesitate to reduce the strain by also wearing a harness over the top,” she says. The best strapless strap-on on the market is hands down — or should I say hands-free — the Fun Factory Share. Harness Standard dildos can be worn inside a harness for strap-on play. There are a few different types of harnesses, but when shopping for one the most important thing is to find one that fits.

“The harness should be really snug — or be able to be adjusted to be really snug,” Corrado says. “Whether you’re thrusting into someone else, into your own hand, or just wearing it around, you don’t want the dildo to be wiggling around,” she explains. The snugger the fit, the more control you’ll have over the attachable phallus. Strap-on style Decked out in straps, this type of harness is super-duper adjustable, which means you can make it tighter against your body. “SpareParts is the gold standard of the strap-on harnesses. They look cute, have incredible holding power, and come in a variety of styles,” Corrado says. Thong-style strap-ons, like the Roadster harness, have a strap that goes between the legs and are generally more comfortable for folks with vulvas. Jockstrap-style strap-ons, like the SpareParts Joques, feature straps around each of the butt cheeks and the waist. “[This style] basically gives your butt a butt lift,” Corrado says.
Anal Sex Doll

There’s also double-strap strap-ons, which are designed to be worn by people with penises. There’s a hole for the penis and a second one for the base of the dildo. These are a great option for double-penetration play and for penis owners with erectile dysfunction. Best on the market: SpareParts Deuce. Underwear-style “You can also find harnesses that look like boxers or briefs and even thongs,” Corrado says. “They’re great for people who want to wear a harness under their clothes, and those who want to wear them to pack,” she says. Corrado recommends anything from the brand Rodeoh, as it’s usually more sturdy than other underwear-style harnesses on the market and home to a million different styles. Bondage harnesses Beyond harnesses for strap-on sex, there are also body harnesses that are commonly seen in the BDSM and kink scene. Some types you might see:

chest harness collar harness full-body harness External vibrator Does it vibrate? Is it intended to be used outside the body? Then — ding, ding, ding — it’s an external vibrator. And boy oh boy are there a lot of different types of external vibes. “All external vibrators are great products,” says sex educator and sex toy reviewer Indigo Wolfe. “It comes down to figuring out which is the most great for you, based on what you enjoy sexually.” Use the chart below to figure out what subcategory of external vibrator is best for you. Type of external vibrator What it does that’s special Our pick Palm vibrator Shaped like a computer mouse, these are ergonomically designed to cover the vulva and stimulate your labia and clit. Le Wand Point Jewelry vibrator These multitasking vibes can be worn (as jewelry) and adored (as clit vibrators). Vesper Crave Panty vibrator Surprise: These clip into your panties for hands-free clitoral stimulation at home, or at a restaurant. We-Vibe Moxie Wand vibrator Shaped like microphones, wand vibrators have a bulbous head that’s designed to deliver super intense, rumbly vibrations anywhere on the body (external genitals, back, butt cheeks, etc.). Magic Wand

Finger vibrator These small vibes slide onto or sit between two digits so you can bring your hands between your legs to enjoy the vibration. Dame Fin Bullet vibrator About the size of a battery, bullet vibrators provide buzzy, low-intensity vibration to your bits. They fit inside most harnesses to give the strap-on wearer stimulus. Unbound Zip Clitoral vibrator This category has no limits! Really, anything that can stimulate the clit qualifies. When shopping for your own clit vibe, think about what shape might work best for your anatomy. Dame Eva II Vibrating penis ring Vibrating cock rings slide over the penis and offer stimulation to the scrotum or a partner’s clit during P-in-V. Lelo Tor 2 Penis vibrator Penis vibrators are designed specifically to fit over, or encase, the cock with vibration. Mysteryvibe Tenuto Internal vibrator Do you enjoy having your bum hole penetrated? How about your front hole, if you have one? If the answer is Y-E-S to either, it’s time to add an internal vibrator to your sex toy collection. The exact type of internal vibrator you purchase will depend on what type of sensation you like internally.

In this post, we'll discuss a few strategies to help you gain those followers, from creating a follow-worthy Instagram profile to using contests and staying true to your brand. How to Get More Followers on Instagram Make your account into a business profile and optimize the description. Designate an experienced content creator. Follow photography and editing best practices. Adhere to a regular posting schedule.

Allow outside contributors to curate your content. Use a consistent, platform-specific brand voice. Write engaging, shareable captions. Optimize posts with relevant hashtags. Lean into trending content formats. Post content your followers want to see. Promote your Instagram. Engage with users through follows, likes, and comments. Cross-promote with influencers and brands with similar audiences. Run Instagram contests to encourage engagement. Explore Instagram Stories' interactive features. Use the Instagram Live feature. Share your profile link on your website and social media channels. Post user-generated content. Diversify your audience to resonate with different types of users. Apply for a verification badge. Create your own filters and badges. Tag relevant users. Post content that's meant to be re-shared. Get on the Instagram Explore page. Share educational content with Instagram slides. Host an Instagram account takeover.

1. Make your account into a business profile and optimize the description. First thing's first: Customize your Instagram profile to make it look good. Tell your potential followers who you are, and give them a reason to follow you. How? Start by making sure your username is recognizable and easily searchable – like your business name. how to get more followers: make a business account and optimize your profile description Image Source If your business name is already taken, try keeping your business name as the first part of your username so that people searching for your business are more likely to come across you. For example, the Australian activewear line Lorna Jane uses the username Lornajaneactive.
Buy Instagram Followers

Setting Up Your Account Step 1. Add your full business name to the "Name" field in the "Options" section. To find "Options," tap the three lines in the top right corner of the iOS app, followed by "Settings" which will appear at the bottom of the screen next to a gear. If you're on Android, tap the three dots in the corner. Your business or name will appear under your profile picture and your username in search. Step 2. Make your profile public. To make your profile public, open Instagram, open "Options," and make sure "Private Account" is turned off. setting up your instagram account to gain followers step to make your account public Step 3. Choose a profile picture that's on-brand with your other social networks, like your company logo. Step 4. Fill your bio with delightful, actionable, and informative information about your brand. Information like this lets people know what you're about and gives them a reason to follow you. Include who you are and what you do, and be sure to add a hint of personality.

Here are a few examples for inspiration: Cheekbonebeauty: "Less waste. Ethical and safe ingredients." Oreo: "Playful moments from your favorite cookie." Mrsbrittanyhennessy: "Helping Influencers go beyond #sponcon and create sustainable businesses." CalifiaFarms: "Something different, something better. Let us show you what plants can do." Coragedolls: "Elevating, educating, & encouraging girls of color to be unstoppable with dolls that finally look like her." Step 5. Add a link tree to your bio to make it easy for people to go straight from Instagram to your other platforms if they want to. The space allotted for URLs is precious real estate. When you receive 10,000 followers, you can add links to your Instagram Stories. Until then, your bio is the only place within Instagram where you can place clickable links, so use it wisely. We recommend using a shortened, customized Bitly link to make it more clickable. Step 6. Enable notifications so you can see when people share or comment on your photos. This'll let you engage with them more quickly – just like a lot of companies do on Twitter. To enable notifications, go to "Options" and then "Push Notification Settings." Select "From Everyone" for every category. A word to the wise: We don't recommend you link your Instagram account to Twitter and Facebook (or other social media platforms) for automatic posts. Because every platform caters to a different audience and requires different types of posts.

Designate an experienced content creator. Just like there should be one (maybe two) people managing your other social media accounts, there should only be one or two people managing your Instagram account. If possible, choose someone with experience on the platform who will "get" it — and be sure they stay updated on all new features Instagram has to offer from Reels to IGTV. If you work for a large organization, you might find that a lot of people want a say in what's posted. That's when an organized request or guidelines document comes in handy. This document should inform people how to request a post on your Instagram account, when, the value of the post, and why. 3. Follow photography and editing best practices. On Instagram, post quality matters. A lot. Your Twitter followers might forgive a few bad tweets, but a bad photo on Instagram is a big no-no. Fortunately, you don't have to take a photography course to be a good Instagram poster — nor do you have to practice for weeks before you start. But you should get familiar with basic photography tips and photo editing apps. Photography Best Practices Since Instagram is a mobile app, chances are, some content you post to Instagram will be taken on your mobile device. That's expected.

In general, most scramblers have a few meters less range. However, more powerful jammers can create an area the size of a football field. The high-power mobile phone signal jammers are basically used outdoors, and only a few are used indoors. The main reason is to use high-power mobile phone signal jammers indoors when the indoor area is relatively large and the environment is relatively transparent.

When the low-power mobile phone wifi jammer is used outdoors, the most important thing is to pay attention to rain protection. At this time, it is necessary to install an awning above the mobile phone signal shield after the mobile phone signal shield is installed. Generally, the edge of the awning is required to exceed the mobile phone signal shield by about 20 cm. On both sides, at the same time, it should exceed the shield by about 15 cm, so as to effectively prevent rainwater from splashing into the ventilation louvers of the cooling fan. Also note that the power cord of the mobile phone signal shielding device is also waterproof and can be used normally. At the same time, it is necessary to regularly check whether the mobile phone signal jammer is faulty.
Jammer Frequency

The chassis of the high-power mobile phone signal shielding device has been designed to be waterproof before leaving the factory. Under normal rainfall, there is no need to worry about rainwater splashing into the chassis. You only need to pay attention to the installation height of the mobile phone signal shielding device. It can meet the requirements of the on-site installation environment, but also higher than the historical high water level of the site. When the high-power mobile phone signal shielding device is used outdoors, not only should pay attention to rain protection, but also pay attention to lightning protection when necessary. The method of lightning protection is to weld the antenna bracket to the lightning rod, and then insert a steel rod with a length of about 2 meters into the ground, and weld one end of the steel rod to the antenna bracket or lightning rod with a steel wire, or connect it to the lightning rod on the roof. network. Shoe materials supplier information and sneaker materials list are listed in detail.

Depending on the import rules for your country, textiles are often a higher dutyrate. Shoes made with 51% textile surface area are sometimes 20%. A textile shoecosting less than $12.50 USD will be 20% +.90 duty! (depending on the country). However, there is a trick, by molding textile on the sole of the shoe you can avoid thehigh duty rates. Whatever you call it, synthetic, synthetic leather, PUleather, or just PU, thismaterial is another must-have for modern sports shoes. This class of material offers theshoe designer a huge variety of colors, textures, and features at a wide range of prices. Itwas once considered to be cheap junk not suitable for high-quality shoes, times havechanged. These man-made materials are often a composite made of two layers. A backing layer made of woven or non-woven polyester fibers combined with an external surface by “dry” lamination process or by liquid “wet” processes. Many of the leastexpensive synthetics have a fibrous woven backing with PVC skin made by a wet process. The surface on these may not be 100% smooth and the shoe willshow wrinkles and creases. This material is the cheap stuff found on inexpensive shoes.

High-end leather starts with a water-resistant microfiber PU backing. This backing has a smooth surface, cuts cleanly, and can be dyed to match the surfacematerials. A microfiber style backing can be ordered in .5 to 2.00mm thicknesses, hassome stretch, and can have a water-resistant treatment. On top of this backing, the skincan be applied.Polyurethane plastic film .2 to .5mm thick is made in a separate operation andthe two layers are then rolled together with heat and pressure. PU outer skin is then printed, embossed, scuffed or polished to create one of the millions of surface options. The largest PU maker has hundreds of different embossing patterns that can be appliedto hundreds of different surfaces. If you can meet the order volume required, you can pick any color you want.

There are many types of foam used to make shoes, here we are going to reviewthe types of foam found in the uppers of shoes. Generally, foam is divided into two types, “Open Cell” and “Closed Cell” foam. Open cell is exactly what it sounds like, the plastic compound that makes up the foam cells is open, air and water are free toenter and exit the foam just like a dishwashing sponge. Closed-cell foam is exactly that, individual cells are closed or sealed not allowing the foams internal gas to escape.

Open-cell foam is generally softer, these foams are made of Polyurethane plastic. This type of foam is commonly known as “KF or KFF” foam Open-cell foam isavailable in different densities and in almost any thickness and color. Open-cell foamis used in the tongues and collars of shoes. Thin sheets of PU are used to backfabric in the most shoes uppers. PU foam allows the stitches to sink in and gives meshsome extra support while reducing wrinkles. Reticulated foam is the most open style offoam. This type is often used for ventilation features. Closed-cell foam is generally denser. Midsoles of shoes are all made from closedcell foam. Midsolefoam is covered the article Outsole Design.Common Closed cellfoams include EVA(ethyl vinyl acetate), PE (Polyethylene), SBR Styrene butadienerubber), PU (Polyurethane), Latex, and Neoprene are the most common types. Each hasits own properties. EVA foamis used for backing mesh materials, 2mm sheet EVA willmake the fabric waterproof. Neoprene and SBR are used when elastic propertiesrequired. Latex is common for collarlinings. PE foam is very light but not so durableso its use is limited. When working with foam it is important to know what foam is appropriate forthe shoe upper and what is appropriate for cushioning the shoe There is no best material for shoes. What is best for a running shoe is not the bestmaterial for a work boot. The shoe designer, footwear developer, and product managermust work together to pick materials based on the price, performance, durability, dutyrates, comfort and styling. Every shoe will have a different material requirement

Men are simple and like things to be as uncomplicated as possible – especially when it comes to our wardrobe. For example: if we’re going to the gym, we grab gym shorts and gym shoes. A trip to the beach means swim trunks and sandals. And anything that isn’t a sneaker or a sandal gets classified in the overwhelming category of “dress shoes”, right?

When it comes to the various types of men’s shoes, there’s actually a hierarchy. To put it another way: not all types of dress shoes are created equal. But don’t freak out just yet. We’re here to go over the differences between an Oxford and a Derby, lace-ups and slip-ons and the other types of men’s dress shoes. Presenting the Men’s Shoe Guide: 12 Types of Men’s Shoes.

Kicking off our men’s shoe guide is the mighty Oxford (or a Balmoral for our UK blokes), probably the best-known type of dress shoe. The Oxford is a sleek, formal lace-up shoe identified by it’s “closed” lacing style and the appeal that the shoe is made from one piece of leather. The closed style means that the eyelet flaps on top of the shoe are stitched over the vamp, or the front section of the shoe, restricting the flap’s movement. Oxfords are usually worn in more formal situations, but can also be worn casually with a business suit. You might hear someone call this shoe a “closed front”, but it’s okay, you know they mean Oxford.

Often confused with the Oxford, the Derby is a close shoe relative, but not the same type of men’s shoe. Rather than having a closed lacing system like the Oxford, the Derby sports an open lacing system with the flaps being sewn under the vamp and not connected at front of the shoe. This style of stitching makes the flaps capable of movement and when laced the shoe looks as if it’s broken up into segments (top, side, back, etc.) Originally a sporting shoe, the Derby was used in more relaxed environments like hunting. Although a Derby could be worn in formal settings, it is more casual than an Oxford and could arguably make for a more comfortable, functional fit.

In the U.S., Derby’s and Bluchers are often used interchangeably to describe the open front lace style, but they’re actually two slightly different types of men’s shoes. If you pay close enough attention, you’ll see that Derby’s have the two sides sewn under the vamp, whereas Bluchers connect the two sides onto the vamp. Very similar, but it isn’t quite tomato/tomato.

Ahh, the Chelsea Boot. The favourited boot style of rock icons The Beatles and badass galaxy soldiers in George Lucas’ original Star Wars trilogy (yup, stormtroopers have a thing for Chelsea Boots). That easily makes it one of our favourites types of dress shoes as well. Originated during the Victorian era, but made mainstream cool in the 60s, this snug style of ankle boot is classified by its low heel, fabric tab on its’ backside and slip-on/slip off quality thanks to its elastic side panelling. Chelsea Boots have rounded toes and are versatile enough to be worn with jeans or a suit.

Brogue shoes are a style of Oxford, Blucher or Loafer that come with a perforated design punched along the edge of the leather overlapping the vamp. In short, Brogue is the style of shoes with the holes and thereby it’s own type of men’s dress shoe. But there are also types of Brogues and that’s worth distinguishing further. Hence we’re about to go all types of dress shoes within types of dress shoes on you, Inception-style. Here are the 3 most popular Brogue shoes:

Identified by its wide heel and slip-on capabilities, the Loafer was inspired by mocassins; the shoe of choice for Native Americans. Like Oxfords, Moccasins come in a variety of lace-less styles (tassel, penny loafer, monk strap, etc.). Regardless of style, when it comes to the various types of men’s shoes, Loafers are generally considered to be the most casual. You can throw on a pair of loafers for a night on the dance floor with jeans or pair it with a suit – but we wouldn’t recommend loafers to wear anywhere fancy.

Chukkas are a Derby styled ankle boot. Typically made from calfskin or suede, chukkas are created by using two to three sets of eyelets and an open lacing system to secure the quarters over the tongue of the boot.
Custom Shoe Builder

Desert Boots are a type of Chukka, but Chukka Boots aren’t always Desert Boots. Confused? Ok, here’s the breakdown. Desert Boots were named after the light brown suede ankle boots the British soldiers wore during the desert campaign in WWII. Although very similar to the Chukka in style the different between Desert Boots and Chukkas is in their sole makeup. Desert Boots have a rubber sole and chukkas have a leather sole. Got it?

The Monk Strap style is defined as any shoe that uses a strap and a buckle instead of rather than laces to secure the foot in the shoe. When there’s a broader strap with two buckles, that’s called a Double Monk. Seems easy enough…

And capping off our men’s shoe guide is the boat shoe, which should be worn…well, on a boat. Before you start having Jay-Z fantasies about galavanting around on your 100-foot yacht, realize that boat shoes aren’t just a fashionable style of shoe, but they actually have a functional purpose. These shoes come equipped with an anti-slip rubber to accommodate walking (or partying) on wet decks. Usually, Boat Shoes (or Deck Shoes) come as Derbies or Bluchers in the Loafer style with the leather shoelaces tying over the tongue of the shoe. The typical Boat Shoe has a leather lace woven through the collar of the shoe and tying over the tongue of the shoe, to secure the shoe more tightly. Pair Boat Shoes with your most fitting yacht wear or pool clothes for a fashionable no-slip grip shoe option.

The average shoe size in the world has changed a lot over the decades. Here’s how the evolution of the average woman’s shoe size looked: at the beginning of the 20th century, the average size was 35, in 1950, it was 36, in 1970, it was 37, and today, the average size of a woman’s shoe is 39. Men’s shoe sizes have also changed a lot. Years ago, the most common sizes among men were 39-40 but today, the average shoe size of a man is 43. So what do you think will happen in 50 or 100 years? According to experts, human height is growing due to healthy nutrition rich in vitamins and minerals. Along with our height, we are also gaining weight which means that our feet have to withstand more weight, so naturally, our feet are growing in size along with our height and weight.

Did you know that, according to the American Orthopaedic Association, women often get the wrong shoe size? What does this mean? You must be wondering how someone could wear the wrong shoe size as it’s very painful and uncomfortable. Even light pressure in the foot can prevent normal blood flow and cause foot deformity. Sometimes, when you first put on a pair of shoes, they seem comfortable and you feel no pressure. But after wearing them for a longer period of time, you start to feel an unpleasant tension in the foot. This proves that your shoes are too small. In order to avoid this, measure your foot first. Also, after purchasing a pair of shoes, wear them at home for a bit and make sure that they’re suitable for you and that they really are comfortable.

With the growing popularity of online stores, consumers are increasingly choosing to conveniently shop online. You can dress up from head to toe without even stepping foot outside. You may have thought that you can only buy a beautiful dress or an elegant handbag online but now, you can also buy shoes without worrying about choosing the wrong size. Instead, just measure the length of your foot and hurry to enjoy that new pair of shoes! So how do you reduce the risk of choosing the wrong size and instead get a perfect size? We would like to share our experience with you and give you some of the most important tips which will surely help you choose the correct shoe size when shopping online.

At Dolita, each footwear model is closely inspected. We pay attention to the essential differences in size and attributes. We look at the shape and details as one footwear model may be more suitable for those with a more narrow foot and another model, for example, high-top boots without a zipper, may be more suitable for those with narrow shins and low insteps. At the www.dolitashoes.com website, check the product information to find out if the shoes fit small to size or large to size: ”Fits large to size, take a size smaller than normal“ or “Fits small to size, take a size larger than normal“.

Foot length. It is especially important to measure the length of your foot. Knowing how long your foot is in centimetres, you can easily find the manufacturer’s size chart which will make it much easier for you to order your shoes in the right size. The shape of the shoe and your foot. It’s extremely important to pay attention to the footwear model you choose. Shoes with a pointed nose should be chosen a size larger because the model itself is a bit smaller. If your instep is high, choose shoes with the zipper on the side, the front, or on part of the heel. If your foot is especially wide, we recommend avoiding pointed shoes or shoes with a seam at the widest part of your foot.

The downside? They tend to grow in large numbers -- often 20 to 100 at a time. Flat warts tend to appear on children's faces, men's beard areas, and women's legs.

These fast-growing warts look thread-like and spiky, sometimes like tiny brushes. Because they tend to grow on the face -- around your mouth, eyes, and nose -- they can be annoying, even though they don't usually hurt.

As you might expect, you get these by having sex with someone who has them. They may look like small, scattered, skin-colored bumps or like a cluster of bumps similar to a little bit of cauliflower on your genitals. And they can spread, even if you can't see them. Don't try to get rid of genital warts yourself; they can be hard to treat.

Over time, your body will often build up a resistance and fight warts off. But it may take months or as many as 2 years for them to disappear. In adults, warts often stick around even longer, perhaps several years or more. Some warts won't ever go away. Doctors aren't sure why some do and others don't.
BEST GENITAL WARTS

Most warts are harmless, and you don't need to do anything -- unless, of course, they're painful or embarrassing. Waiting for warts to go away could backfire, though: A wart might get bigger, new warts may appear, or you could give them to someone else. The best treatment depends on your age and health and the type of wart. But there's no cure for HPV, so some of the virus might stay in your skin after the wart is gone and reappear later.

Over-the-counter gels, liquids, and pads with salicylic acid work by peeling away the dead skin cells of the wart to gradually dissolve it. For better results, soak the wart in warm water, then gently sand it with a disposable emery board before you apply the product. Be sure to use a new emery board each time. Be patient -- it can take several months.

Yes, you may be able to get a remedy for warts at the hardware store! Study results are mixed, but covering warts with duct tape may peel away layers of skin and irritate it to kick-start your immune system. Soak, sand, and put duct tape on the area (use silver stuff because it's stickier). Remove and re-do the process every 5-6 days until the wart is gone. If it works for you, the wart should be gone within 4 weeks.
